Kampot pepper vine in southern Cambodia
Yaacov Teplow-Phipps founded Garden Thyme NY Inc in 2011 after beautifying properties in the Metro NY area for over a decade.
As a child, Yaacov could be found on his grandparents’ organic farm picking raspberries, harvesting vegetables and mowing their field whenever possible (once he could reach the pedals of the tractor without sitting on his father’s lap).
Yaacov’s horticulture career took off in high school after taking a summer job with a local landscaper who specialized in designing very colorful and natural looking gardens and pest management.

- Design Assistant for Bedford Hills landscape architect.
- Gardener at the Metropolitan Museum of Art – Cloisters Garden and exclusive Manhattan penthouses and townhouses.
When he is not landscaping, Yaacov can be found biking up the Hudson towards Bear Mountain, sailing a small sloop on the LI Sound and hiking with his wife.
